Search Engine Optimization | Webmaster Tools
Google and Bing require you to verify your domain ownership to gain access to their webmaster tools. Webmaster tools provide you with additional information on your search traffic and suggestions for improvements.
Google Search Console
You'll need to verify your domain ownership when using Google Search Console. We recommend verifying the domain by creating a TXT record:
Step 1: Obtain TXT Record Value
- Login to Google Search Console
- Click + Add property at the bottom of the property selector dropdown (top left) or click here
- In the Select property type window, select Domain, enter your Domain Name in the text field, and click Continue
- Copy the TXT record value (i.e., long string that starts with google-site-verification=...)
Step 2: Create TXT Record
With the TXT value from Google, you can create the TXT record by following the steps below:
- Login to your Control Panel at https://www.misk.com/cp/
- Click on your Domain Name
- Under Essentials in the top area, Click DNS
- Click Add Record and select TXT
- Leave the Subdomain field blank
- Enter the TXT record value you copied from Google under Details
- Click Add
Step 3: Complete Verification
Go back to your Google Search Console and click on the Verify button. If it doesn't verify right away (because of dns record caching by Google's servers), give it a few minutes and try again.
