Microsoft Office 365 provides email and/or hosting for your website. Connect Office 365 to your domain by following the steps below.
Step 1: Add and Verify your Domain
Visit the Office 365 Verify Domain Guide and follow the steps to add and verify your domain. We recommend verifying your domain by setting up a TXT record.
- Login to your Control Panel at https://www.misk.com/cp/
- Click on your Domain Name
- Under Essentials in the top area, click DNS
- Click Add Record and select TXT
- Enter the subdomain and TXT value specified in Office 365
- Click Add
- Return to Office 365 to verify the domain (last step in that section)
Step 2: Create DNS Records
MX record and TXT records then need to be setup to connect the domain to Office 365.
- MX Record
- In your control panel, click on your Domain Name
- Under Essentials in the top area, click DNS
- Under Incoming Mail Servers (MX), click Edit
- Server Name: Find in your Office 365 Control panel
- Priority: 0
- Click Save
- TXT Record
- In your control panel, click on your Domain Name
- Under Essentials in the top area, click DNS
- Click Add Record and select TXT
- Subdomain: Leave blank
- Text: v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
- Click Add
Setup Additional Optional Records
Certain Office 365 services ask for additional records.
- CNAME Record
- In your control panel, click on your Domain Name
- Under Essentials in the top area, click DNS
- For Email (Exchange) Autodiscover
- Click Add Record and select CNAME
- Subdomain: autodiscover
- Hostname: autodiscover.outlook.com
- Click Save
- For Lync SIP
- Click Add Record and select CNAME
- Subdomain: sip
- Hostname: sipdir.online.lync.com
- Click Save
- For Lync Autodiscover
- Click Add Record and select CNAME
- Subdomain: lyncdiscover
- Hostname: webdir.online.lync.com
- Click Save
- For Additional CNAME
- Click Add Record and select CNAME
- Subdomain: msoid
- Hostname: clientconfig.microsoftonline-p.net
- Click Save
- For Email (Exchange) Autodiscover
- SRV Record
- In your control panel, click on your Domain Name
- Under Essentials in the top area, click DNS
- For Lync web conferencing
- Click Add Record and select SRV
- Subdomain: _sip._tls
- Priority: 100
- Weight: 1
- Port: 443
- Target: sipdir.online.lync.com
- Click Add
- For Lync federation, enter the following values
- Click Add Record and select SRV
- Subdomain: _sipfederationtls._tcp
- Priority: 100
- Weight: 1
- Port: 5061
- Target: sipfed.online.lync.com
- Click Add
- For Lync web conferencing
