Google Sites

Google Sites is an online web builder. Connect your domain to Google Sites by following the steps below.

Step 1: Verify Domain

Google requires you to verify domain ownership using Google Search Console before using it with Google Sites. We recommend verifying the domain by creating a TXT record.

Step 1: Obtain TXT Record Value 

1. Login to Google Search Console
2. Click + Add property at the bottom of the property selector dropdown (top left) or click here
3. In the Select property type window, select Domain, enter your Domain Name in the text field, and click Continue
4. Copy the TXT record value (i.e., long string that starts with google-site-verification=...)

Step 2: Create TXT Record

1. Login to your Control Panel at https://www.misk.com/cp/
2. Click on your Domain Name
3. Under Essentials in the top area, Click DNS
4. Click Add Record and select TXT
5. Leave the Subdomain field blank
6. Enter the TXT record value you copied from Google under Details
7. Click Add

Step 3: Complete Verification with Google
Go back to your Google Search Console and click on the Verify button. If it doesn't verify right away (because of dns record caching by Google's servers), give it a few minutes and try again.

Step 2: Point Domain to Google

After verifying the domain, you'll need to point the domain to Google Sites by creating a CNAME record. Follow the steps below:

1. Login to your Control Panel at https://www.misk.com/cp/
2. Click on your Domain Name
3. Under Essentials in the top area, click Website
4. On the left, select CNAME / Hostname
5. Enter ghs.googlehosted.com as the Hostname
6. Click Save

Step 3 - Connect Google Site with Domain

Now all you have to do is connect Google Sites with your domain.

1. Go to https://sites.google.com/
2. Click on your site to manage it
3. On your site's management page, click on the gear icon  in the upper right corner and select Custom domains
4. On the right, select Start setup and enter your domain name (include the www, i.e., www.example.com) and click Next
5. Since you've already pointed your domain to the CNAME above, you can just click Done
